Vector / About
AboutWe got tired of shipping AI we couldn't see.
Vector started the week a prompt change quietly broke a feature for three days and nobody could say why. We built the tool we wished we'd had.
Every team we knew was running AI features the way nobody would run a backend: no traces, no evals, no idea what a release actually changed. Quality drifted, cost crept, and the first signal was usually an angry customer.
So we built Vector. Wrap your client in one line and every request becomes a trace you can read. Catch a regression with an eval before it ships. Watch latency and spend on the same timeline. The unglamorous instrumentation that turns "we think it's fine" into "we know it's fine."
We are a small, senior team of infrastructure and ML engineers who have run this stuff at scale and would rather it just worked. That is the whole product thesis.
Three things we refuse to compromise.
Your data is yours
We never train on it. Self-host if you want nothing to leave your VPC. Trust is the product.
Honest by default
No vanity dashboards. We show the slow span, the failing eval, the cost that doubled. Especially when it's awkward.
Five-minute install
If it takes a quarter to adopt, it doesn't get adopted. One line, then traces. Everything else is opt-in.
